What is MBTI?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is one of the most widely used personality assessments in the world. Based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types, MBTI was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her mother, Katharine Briggs.

MBTI identifies your preferences across four dichotomies, combining to form 16 distinct personality types. Understanding your type can provide insights into your natural strengths, communication style, decision-making process, and ideal working environment.

The 4 MBTI Dichotomies

Extraversion (E) vs. Introversion (I)

How you direct and receive energy. Extraverts (E) focus outward and get energized by interacting with people, while Introverts (I) focus inward and get energized by spending time alone with their thoughts.

Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N)

How you process information. Sensing (S) types focus on concrete facts and details observed through their senses, while Intuitive (N) types focus on patterns, possibilities, and meaning.

Thinking (T) vs. Feeling (F)

How you make decisions. Thinking (T) types decide objectively based on logic and principles, while Feeling (F) types decide based on values and how decisions affect people.

Judging (J) vs. Perceiving (P)

How you approach the external world. Judging (J) types prefer structure, planning, and closure, while Perceiving (P) types prefer flexibility, spontaneity, and keeping options open.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the MBTI assessment?

MBTI has been refined over decades and is widely used by individuals, companies, and therapists. While some critics point to limitations in scientific validation, millions find it valuable for self-insight and personal development.

Can my personality type change over time?

MBTI theory suggests that your core preferences remain fairly stable throughout life. However, your expression of these preferences may evolve as you develop and grow. Life circumstances and stress can also temporarily affect how your preferences manifest.

How long does the assessment take?

Our MBTI assessment typically takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. For the most accurate results, choose a time when you can focus without interruptions and answer as honestly as possible based on your natural tendencies, not how you think you should respond.
